The Saka story started in the early 2000 when my wife started to have kidney problems, having been involved in the wellness industry since I was 19, I wasn't totally satisfied with the opinions and philosphy of the doctors at the hospitals, so we went and got a lot of opinions from a lot of alternatives practitioners and every one tried to convince us that their angle was the best, but no one gave us a solution and that 'magic pill' that would help my wife.
We struggled for over 2 years of visiting hospitals, naturopaths, kiniseoligists, chinese medical practitioners, magicians and every healer we could find. Eventually her kidneys failed, her toxicity levels were around the 25% for many months and the only solutions the doctors could offer was dialysis, when asked what foods or things we could do to help the kidneys and body, their only advice was not to drink too much water to keep the water retention down.
Eventually during a blood test at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, while waiting for the results, my wife's kidneys failed and she passed out and lost consciousness, tuned yellow and would not respond. This traumatic experience happened infront of my three little boys, aged 2, 4 and 6.
Within minutes there were 16 doctors and nurses in the room trying to revive her, we were told to get out as the kids were screaming and crying like their father, I took the kids out and waited outside and started to pray, my whole life appeared infront of me, I could not believe that this was happening, I had a million unanswered questions.
When I was allowed to come in and see my wife, they told me that her blood test showed a toxicity of 86%. They put her on dialysis, even though she didn't want it, but at least I am grateful they did as I don't know if she'd still be with us if they didn't.
This experience with what we went through and seeing all the people in the renal clininc evey fortnight made me frustrated with the hospital and the medical system. They always wait till the damage is done and then they offer you medicine and operations, never about prevention, I am 100% convinced that kidney failure and many other chronic diseases are preventable if we only knew what to do earlier.
I started researching and studying the kidneys and their vital role in the body, I started learing about chronic disease. This led me to the importance of acid/alakline balance of the body, something that no one mentioned from all the doctors and healers we visited.
This led me to understand the importance of hydration and water to every living thing, human, animal, fish, bird, trees, plants, flowers, etc, water is life. less water is less life, no water no life.
So I started reseaching water filters, and there's so much out there,some are good at doing one thing but not good at another, and some the other way around, I found that there is no perfect water filter on the market no matter what is advertised, and the whole idea of water filters is to mimic nature itself, I realised that no matter what, man can not be God or nature, so I went back to nature, I started looking at different brands of water.
I knew that our tap water is full of toxic chemicals and we paid dearly to find out what it can do to your health. I started looking at bottled water, only interested in finding the healthiest I could find. What a shock, I learned that most of the big brands where the worst on the market, but, supported by big budgets and strong marketing and branding, people flock to them. I comapred 55 brands of bottled water form Australia, most were actually from tap water and 98% were acidic, some as low as 4pH, shocking.
I found 1 alkaline brand of water, but it was too dear and had a high sodium content which I didn't want.
So I started looking at water brands from New Zealand, Asia, Africa, Brazil , USA, Canada, Fiji, Europe, every brand I could get my hands on, 2 years passed and I have build a list of 1247 brands, all I wanted was to find a good source of water for my family, especially my wife.

Eventually I looked at the list and took out all the acidic waters out, 82 was left, took out all the high Sodium brands out and there was 12, I started requesting information from these brands, wanted to know about the source, the bottle, bottling process, more about the company and as much information as I could get.
The more I found out about saka Water the more I fell in love with it.
To pick Saka out of 1247 brands. Saka had to be WAY much better and have many reasons why it was the best.
First, the company was very professional and very, very financial with a huge and good reputation, these are important as they didn't rely only on their water bottling for money and they were not desperate to compromise quality and ethical practices.
Then, the botting plant, I had over a dozen companies send me videos of their bottling plant, nothing came close, in quality, cleanliness, hygiene, capability and technolgy.
The most important was the water, many waters were high in 1 or 2 minerals only and had nothing else, I wanted a water that was not too high in minerals so it didnt taste chalky and I didn't want a water that had too low or no minerals as that is unhealthy, I needed a balance of natural minerals and that is exactly what Saka Water had, a balance of minerals and it's that balance that gives it a silky smooth taste. I remember when we first tasted the samples. There were 4 of us who took a sip and we all commented on how nice it tasted compared to the other samples and to all the waters in Australia. It was amazing how we all noticed the smooth taste instantly.
Another important thing is the pH balance of the water, most water brands don't mention that on their labels or website, that's becasue their water is acidic, they just want you to drink it and they focus their branding on other positives of the brand ignoring the most important thing, it's pH.
Saka has an outstanding 8.22 alkaline pH. I knew that most if not all diseases begin with an acidic body, whilst the body is constantly trying to balance itself at 7.365pH, most of our diets were acidic and the simplest and most effective way to support our body was to be drinking Natural Alkaline Mineral Water, this is exactly what Saka Water is, with a perfect 8.22, you go higher than 8.5 and you are palying around too much with your pH. Between 7.8 - 8.5 is good and Saka is perfect in the middle.
The more information I had the more I realised that this could relly make a difference to our health.
I started to dig further and requested many other information, I remember the export manager telling me you ask too much questions, no other people ask these questions from anywhere in the world, but with an exquitive mind and a drive to find one 'good' reason not to buy this water, I kep asking for months, asked about the spring, the source, the bottles, the packaging and many other things to the point where I started to fall in love with it and wanted to taste more of this water as the samples lasted only minutes.
I started to see how this water can help my wife, my family and everyone else, I know for a fact that the quality of water you drink can make a huge impact on your life and health. I also knew that there was no water like Saka Water any where in Australia.
I made a 100% committment to give my life to Saka Water and do what ever it takes using all my resources to bring Saka Water to Australia and to make it available for everyone to enjoy and beneift from. Saka has become my passion and the responce from our customers is my drive which keeps me going.
Another drive is to buy another water brand and drink a sip of it, it instantly reminds me how much better and different Saka Water is to what most people are drinking. I feel like most people are getting ripped off and are missing out if they are not drinking Saka Water.
I had no idea, and still don't know much, about the distribution of bottled water, the laws, requirements, labelling, storage, etc. but we certainly have come a long way and we still have a long way.

We did not get into the bottled water business like other bottled water brands, Saka Water is in business with a different intention, I feel that this water and the fact that it is natural from the source and the fact that is an alkaline water, can really make a positive difference to your health. that's my intention, to make a positive difference to your health. I know that for a fact as I have seen the positive difference it has made to my wife, my self and others, I have not had any trouble from Chrones disease which I've had for years since I've been drinking Saka Water.
